Grinch Time

This  is going to be a bit of a rant. I completely understand if you want to skip this post all together as it is not going to be one of the greatest moods. You can call me a Grinch but it is what it is.
grinch
I do not like Christmas. As I have grown up, my hatred for Christmas has grown also. I know that some of it stems from childhood. Dad being a trucker, was not always home for Christmas. But a lot of it stems from the commercialization of the holiday. I do not understand the purpose of celebrating a holiday where a lot of people go into debt trying to get everything that everybody wants. I know that I am guilty of doing it in the past, which is a partial reason as to why I am in the financial hardship that I am in currently. It seems that no one celebrates the joy of coming together with family and celebrating. It has become all about the presents. For example, I was appalled when one of my nephews last year stated that, “He only got….” I love my nephew, but to complain about the amount of presents that you got does not show the true meaning of Christmas. Yes it is a holiday to celebrate Jesus’ birth. But I think of it more as a time for everyone to come together and spend time with your family. The same nephew last year also made his father very upset as he wanted to spend time at Nana’s (my Mom’s) house playing with me instead of going with the rest of his family (dad, stepmom, and siblings) to visit his stepmoms mother.
It is not uncommon for me to go into a deep depression during December. Unfortunately it started a little earlier this year. Pretending to be cheerful through this time of year is very tiring at times. This year we get to include the joy of trying to move right before Christmas. We had decided late last week that we would just wait it out until the house got sold. But with the circumstances that arose last night, the search has been reinstated. I had even set up our tree. Tree
There won’t be any presents underneath it. It is just to have a bit of a festive feel to the house.
Well that is all I have for now. Hopefully the next time I post it will include some good news about our living situation.

It Is Happening Again…

Oh the joys of being renters.
So earlier this past week, I got home from a shift at work and I notice a sign in the front yard. I ask Justin about it, and low-and-behold it is a For Sale sign. Yay our landlords are putting their house for sale. At least they are going to try to sell the house with us in it. Except that we are going to try and find a new place before that. I have a list of suites to look at, now I just have to call them and set up appointments. If we’re lucky, we can be moving next weekend.
Although the part that really sucks is that we just started organizing our spare room. We have been here a year and only last week did I set up my desk in the spare room. So much for that. Hopefully our next place is bigger. Then we could actually have people over.
Anyways, just wanted to put a little update. I have to get back to cooking dinner before going to class. Ta Ta For Now

Hunting Cliffnotes

October 17 - 20, 2014

We left Friday night after we both got off from work. We headed straight out to Kelowna, as one of Justin's co-workers said that the hunting for grouse up there was awesome. He had been up there two weeks earlier and got about 19 grouse and some rabbits. (Which looking at the reg book afterwards, he is over his possession total for the grouse and if they were cottontail rabbits, those are illegal to shoot.) So here is the synopsis of everywhere that we went...

**Kelowna**
Beaver Lake FSR, Grizzly, Philpot - saw 2 grouse, 1 rabbit, and 1 white tail doe (we bought a white tail tag before going up) in two days. Not impressed at all.

**Rock Creek**
I don't know the name of the road that we went up. But after having an argument on whether to go forward or turn around (we decided to go forward thankfully) we ended up seeing grouse. Saw one covey of 6, then two coveys of 2. We should of stayed in Rock Creek instead of moving over to Tulameen...
Shot - 7 total -- Lisa 2 (including the only Spruce grouse) Justin 5

**Mount Baldy (between Rock Creek and Oliver)**
My bright idea to go up this FSR as a detour between Rock Creek and Osoyoos. Except we only saw one grouse and the road that was supposed to go back down to the highway didn't go through on the GPS but did in the map book so we decided not to go down it and ended up going to Oliver instead.
Shot - 1 total - Justin 1 (he shot it with the .22)

**Tulameen**
Only saw one grouse on either road that we went onto. We camped at the boat launch and finally had a fire.

Shot - 1 total - Justin 1

Total grouse for weekend: 9 --- Lisa 2, Justin 7

Tulameen - Britton Creek Rest Area
40km drive
Saw 3 grouse. Shot 1 - Justin

Stay on Tulameen side as there were no grouse once we turned onto Lawless-Britton FSR. Although we did see a young bull moose about 5 km away from the rest area.

First Grouse of 2014

September 19-21

Grouse hunting

☆Boston Bar☆
-anisle fsr.  no grouse. They have been logging up the fsr so any habitats are now ruined.

☆ Kamloops ☆
- Jamieson fsr. Saw 6 grouse total. Shot 3 total. Lisa 1 Justin 2.
- O'Connor fsr. Saw nothing.  Farm land. Google Earth area to see if goes back into sub alpine.
***Google Earth to see what else is down Westsyde.***

☆100 Mile House☆
-Keene Rd. Saw 2 grouse total. Shot 1. Justin 1. Justin blew its head off.  Lots of roads all interconnected.

☆Clinton☆
- ski hill loop. Saw covey of 5 birds. Shot 2 by Justin. Lesson for Lisa: ALWAYS take a gun when you have to go to the bathroom.

☆Tunkwa Lake Rd☆
- saw no grouse.

Overall, it was an okay weekend.  Lots of driving. Too much heat for the birds still. High 20s in late September = not good grouse hunting

The Creation

This past weekend Justin and I went grouse hunting. While driving home we were discussing how many times we went last year. Neither of us could remember so I decided that I would create hunting Cliffnotes posts. This way I can keep track of where we went, how many animals we saw and shot.
The post will start with a breakdown of the above.  Then if I have time, I will add a larger story to the post or create a new post later and link back to that specific cliffnotes post.
Tada! Smartness of the brain. It is rare, but it does happen.

Crazy Antics at the Gas Station

Greetings and salutations!
It has been awhile. A lot has happened in the past few months.  I got laid off from the tool store. (Assholes). Not getting into that. Anywho, I now have a job at the gas station.  I know the owners, worked for them before. Bottom line: they like me.
So I have been here now for just over a month and a half and the stupidity of people continues to amaze me. My best friend, Jenn, would verify that as she gets almost daily text messages from me commenting on the stupidness of others. So this morning while texting Jenn again, I came up with a brilliant idea of writing a book about the stupid people.  Only problem is I don't have enough material to write an entire book so I'm making a blog post instead.

I now present to you, the stupidity of people at the gas station!
♤ Not turning the knob on the paper towel dispenser to get towel. They inform me it is out of paper.  I know it isn't as I just filled it. May need a sign mentioning the knob on the side...oh wait. There is one.
♧ Not locking the bathroom door.  There is a sign directly above the handle explaining how to lock the door. Yet people don't read it. Those are the people who have other people walk in on them.
♢ The door out is marked 'push'. Do not pull. If it is after 9pm, do not go to the other door and try pulling. That door is locked now and won't open either way. Fire regulations on all businesses require that the exit doors push out in case of an emergency.
♤ Holding up the gas hose to get "the last of the gas out" after the pump has reached your selected pre-authorized amount does not actually do anything. There is three different valves between the pump and the nozzle that all shut when it is done. Holding up the hose does not do anything.
♧ In your car, where the gas icon on your dash is there is a little arrow. That little arrow is pointing in the direction as to which side of the car your gas tank door is located on.

There was more to this list, but as I started writing this a week ago I have misplaced the list. I will add a second addition to this post as more antics happen.
As for now, take care until next time. :-)

Take This Job And Shove It….

….I ain’t working here no more!!

Greetings!!

I may actually be making more postings in the future. Tool store fired me. Yay! Not. Well kind of. It has its good sides and its bad sides.

Good side: I wanted out of there anyways. They were not a good company to work for. I liked my co-workers but did not like the company. The dynamics there were backwards.
Bad side: I now don’t have a job and get to go through the “fun times” of applying for something new.
Good side: I now have more time at home to clean and organize. Which seriously needs to be done. I just can’t organize to my full extent as I don’t have any extra money to buy some bins to put everything in.
Bad side: No money coming in (from me) so being very cheap on everything. So no going out to eat.

So that is what is up with me lately. I really need to start doing more recipe posts again. Made the most amazingly delicious trout cakes with a cream cheese sauce last night. There was one left over from dinner that I just ate for breakfast. So good!

It is now time to apply for more jobs. Keep your fingers crossed that I get something soon.

Tata for now!!

Back to work now! Ta ta for now!

Archery Camping Weekend

Greetings and salutations!
Archery 3D shoots have been in high demand lately. April we had Chad Davis Memorial (placed 1st) and PoCo (placed 1st and Justin got 2nd). We have two shoots in May. At the end of May is another shoot at PoCo. However this weekend is the Shoot For The Cure camping weekend out at Sagittarius.  This is our second year doing this shoot and second time camping out. This year we have brought along Roman (at least for Friday night to shoot on Saturday) and Justins mom and dad have also come along to camp and shoot this weekend (at least dad is shooting. Mom is along for the ride.)
Right now it is Friday night. We are just sitting around drinking and talking right now. We are hoping that the rain stays away. Topic of choice is fishing.
**So with this post I will be going through the weekend. I will have to post pictures later as I am writing this on my phone but will be taking pictures with my camera. Plus the Blogger app does not allow me to add multiple pictures to my blog. **

FRIDAY
Camping Under The Tree
On Friday we got to the campsite at about 630pm.  We originally planned to camp under the tree we camped under last year. So we parked our trucks under the tree and sat around drinking.
And then it started raining. It was okay under the tree for a little while but then we started to get tree rain. You know, the point in which the leaves can no longer hold water and you get fat drops of water. Not the most fun to be cooking in. So we ended up moving. We backed the trucks up to Justins parents motorhomes awning and opened our hatch/tailgate underneath it.  It mostly provided a dry spot to cook. At least it kept us dry.

SATURDAY
Roman Getting Ready To Shoot
Justin's Dad Shooting
For some reason when we camp we always wake up earlier than when we are at home. Not saying we sleep in at home, I am usually up just before 6am. But when camping we are usually awake at about 5-530. It can be really tiring. Anyways. After I make breakfast we head out to do round one. Round one our group consisted of myself, Justin, Roman and Justins dad. When we finished round one we headed back to the campsite to sit for a bit before going for round two. Roman had stuff to do at home so he did not join us for round two.
Justin Shooting
There was one difference between round one and two. That was the first target. First round it was just two turkeys sitting in front of a foam backstop. But because the rain decided to die down a bit, they were able to put the turkeys on a turntable. They moved our peg closer but now the turkeys were rotating.  Made for a slightly difficult shot. I missed with my first arrow but got one of them in the leg with my second arrow. 2 points is better than no points.
After second round, we grabbed some lunch at the clubhouse. Then Justin and I went out to do a third round. we made it back to the clubhouse just in time to submit our scores.

My Browning Camo Nails. Did them myself. It was hard

-----So this has been sitting on my phone for a while now. I am just going to leave as a cliff hanger for now and will hopefully get pictures up soon. Look for another post eventually about chasing trout over the May long weekend. Until next time...

Tax Season Is Upon Us

I don't know if I mentioned it in an earlier post or not, but I have gotten a part time job working at a tax office. I am (unfortunately) still working at the tool store full time. This is just for the tax season. I thought it would be something fun and different to do. Yes I just said that doing taxes is fun. I'm sick. I know.

With doing taxes, and my history of cashier jobs, I am realizing that I really enjoy working with numbers. So along with doing my accounting course online,  after tax season is done I am going to look into doing an insurance course.  This will allow me to make more money and get weekends off. Plus I would still be able to do tax prep during tax season.

Anyways, it has taken me three days to write this so I will quit for now. I keep getting interrupted.

Until next time...

This is a rant

Okay. Take two of trying to write this post as the first one deletd itself.
This is going to be a rant post. And due to the above first sentence happening, I have foung another reason as to why I don't like posting from my phone. The first being that I can't edit posts as much as on the computer.
Anyways, so today already sucks and that is not good thing considering it is only 8:45am. Two things are pissing me off today. The first being our landlord being a freaking idiot. The second is work related.

So we will start with the landlord first.  The guy is so stupid. Since we have moved in, we have dealt with nothing but shit. It is getting extremely frustrating. He complains to us about his heating bill. Our two baseboard heaters are turned up full power and it is still freezing in our suite. I dont think he understands how cold it is in the basement. It sucks having to constantly be under a blanket. And because it has been so cold lately,  even though we wrapped the pipes to our laundry room in insulation, the pipes are still frozen. I now have to take laundry to my parents house. Its extremely frustrating.  The washer is on the verge of dying. The dryer doesn't always dry. There have been multiple times that I would of had to put the laundey in the dryer for a second time but haven't because it was too late to be running the machine as the clothes would then be really cold in the morning.

Now onto the work rant. I cannot stand being at the tool store anymore. You get treated like crap unless you're related to the manager. Manager is addicted to methedone. Two of the other females that work here pretend to be nice to you then talk abour yoy behind your back.  I have had enough. I cannot wait until I can find a different job so I can leave this job. I could continue going but I don't have the energy to bitch right now.

Next post will be more cheerful.

Archery Season Has Arrived

Happy New Year Blog Readers!

I again apologize for the lack of posts. I currently can't get at my computer,  so I am using my new Galaxy S4 to write a blog.  We shall see how well this works.

We are still in the basement suite that I mentioned in the previous post. Have not yet been able to get the second bedroom organized so I can get my computer jn there. There has been a lot going on.  But I will save thst for another post. I actually have a post started on my computer but I needed to add the photos to it before I wanted to post it.

Anyways, todays post is about the first archery shoot of the year. This past weekend was the annual indoor archery shoot hosted by Abbotsford Fish And Game. I have posted about this shoot before.  I couldn't do Saturday's shoot due to work but I was able to do Sunday's.  It was a full days event. We got there at 8am snd stayed all through the awards. We were able to do 4 rounds on Sunday.  I would post our score carfs but I don't know how to add photos through the Blogger app.

Below is a photo that I took this year from the shoot. It was taken after we did our first round. The shortest shoot was about 14 meters.  The longest was about 45 meters.

My last round was my best round. I didn't do well enough to get a ribbon though.  Oh well there is always next month at the next (new) indoor shoot that Semiahmoo is putting on.  Cannot wait for that one.

Anyways Bloggies, I am leaving you with that for now
I will try my hardest to get that other blog up. For now I get to go do dishes.
Keep it real!
